No idea if its original or not but this just looked amazing under the halogen lighting at Brisbane Vintage Watches and I had to snap some pics:

That's the real deal. If it's a caliber 501 it should be a reference 2920 or 2846. If it's a bumper 351 it's a 2767. Might be more cases that the waffle dial without a date came in too.

How much did he want? That would sell for $500 - maybe $800 tops depending on condition and if it were serviced.

Alright, I was thinking it was gold capped. I'll amend my assessment to $1300-ish, give or take $100 - and that's counting he's a dealer with his service and probably warranty included..... which still means he's twice the market price.

I think the $1200 or so price is more an ebay price - it looks like a nice black textured dial. His price is typical of what the asking dealer price is.

Looks like $1500 or something for the gold capped Pie Pan.

That poorly redialed head may be difficult to flip for a decent price, making that an expensive bracelet for 14k.

Doesn't WatchCo still have a few of those service replacement dials with the more modern fonts like this?

If it is going where I suspect it is going then I would wait for a period correct omega bracelet with the right endlinks - perhaps even a beads of rice bracelet in 14 or 18k gold or a stretch bracelet (like those in the early speedmasters) also in gold with 18mm endlinks. These do come up from time to time and are worth waiting for.

Yea it is, ideally I'd love to somehow score one of those very early brick bracelets with flush endlinks for standard lug models but a BOR would be great too, I just literally have never seen one on the bay unattached to a watch (and normally when there's a bracelet they overprice the hell out of them).
