Hello all, can anyone help identify the model number of this watch? I purchased it on the forum from an excellent user and have worn the watch almost daily since.

Unfortunately, the crown has somehow come off somewhere and I need to source a replacement. Obviously, I can only source it once I identify the model number.

I can't remove the case back because I think I need a special tool (it's got those notches around the perimeter).

I think a bowler hat style crown would be correct.... don´t you have saved a picture of the original on your computer HD?

Did the crown look like this? I think this may have the same case.

I have located one of the seller's wrist shot pics. Hope he doesn't mind me using the pic!

Does anybody know what model number the crown is? If crowns have model numbers that is. Or alternatively, the exact name of the part.

    Thanks guys.

You should take the watch to a good independent watchmaker in your area and have him take off the back. You'll need the reference number to get the proper crown and also a stem. Looks like that came out with the crown.

Better to have a pro handle this one.

    Thank you all.

Does anybody know anyone UK based who is well regarded on the forum, who might be able to deal with it?

I think the winding stem is still present, at least it looks so in the OP´s pictures...

It looks like the stem is still in place to me, too. If this is a 'bumper' automatic, as it appears to be, then the crown will be tap 9 (stem thread 0.9mm) and you will need to measure the case tube to get the OD for that. Armed with these two figures, you should then be able to track down a suitable "bowler hat" style crown from Cousins UK. However, when you have the correct crown you can't just screw it on and hope for the best, because it will just unscrew itself again in short order. The back needs to come off, the stem must be removed, and then the crown must be attached to the stem correctly by someone who knows what they are doing - in other words, a watchmaker

Thank you all so much for your help.

I have to admit I was under the impression that a new crown would simply screw on.

Looks like, stem or no stem (not quite sure off hand) this will be going to someone more adept than I. Should I buy the crown myself and then send both the watch and the crown to a watchmaker, or would a watchmaker be able to source parts?

Any recommendations for a UK watchmaker?

Stefan, who is a member here on this forum, is a very well-regarded UK watchmaker. Send him a PM. He will be able to source the correct crown for you. I think the crown you need is Cousins 42013ST, if your pendant tube is 2.0mm OD.

I believe OP watch is a reference 2635 and crown should look like this...
