    Hi

i got screwed up during the extreme cold snap and New Years day.....

I put an esnipe bid on a watch cause i might forget about it during the crazy cold emergency calls i was in the middle of...

Well I found myself looking at my phone with 5 secs left but did not freak out due to the snipe bid I set up...

As the auction ended , I saw the final number and i thought I won... then a banner flashed across the top of my phone "snipe BID REJECTED blah blah ...... "

    I screamed!

and I lost ... and now depressed....

I'd pound a few pints after that missed opportunity. Steel 2577 chronometer - wow!

That is frustrating! However one crumb of comfort is your snipe may not have been enough to win even if it had been processed. Also whilst it's clearly rare, the dial doesn't seem to be in the best shape. I'm sure a nicer one will find it's way to your wrist in the future

Why did your bid get rejected? It’s one thing to lose because someone ponied up more cash, but to get the door slammed in your face...?

I’m also curious why it was rejected. Does EBay want everyone to bid like an animal now?

Would also like to hear what happened with esnipe. I've been using auctionsniper for years and have never had a hiccup. If my bid was highest, I got the item, period.

Sorry about your loss on this one. But had you won it, would you have replaced the crystal (or is it plexi?) or polished it? In its current state it would be hard to tell time. I'm just wondering if that would lessen the value. I dont have experience looking for real vintage watches, but I'm thinking about dabbling some day.

Hi Bill...Do I recall that you wrote an article over at PuristS extolling the virtues of this 352 movement?

I remember when you wrote it. PuristS was the first forum I ever joined.
I actually made a deal with Thomas. That kind of gave me instant Cred :)
I'm still very friendly with Art, but I ain't playin' pool with him.

    Hi
Yes I posted it there when I was the mod of the Omega forum .... I should try to rebuild it. I thought I did and posted it here but for the life of me I can't seem to find it....

I still talk to Art too....
