Hello!

I am in the search for a mint condition Omega Seamaster 600 or similar models. My preferences are the 135.011 and 136.011 reference.
My requirements are quite precise, as i am looking for one with an almost perfect dial and hands. Minor scratches and dings on the case is alright, as long as the case is more or less unpolished.
I am only looking for steel versions with either black or silver/steel indexes.

De Villes and other similar looking models from the late 50´s and 60´s are of interest as well, as long as they meet the requirements:
- Near perfect dial/hands
- Black or silver/steel index
- Between 34-36 mm without crown
- Steel case
- Round case

I know that i am being quite selective, and i therefore suspect that the right one may not pop up within a week or too, but i have patience and are willing to pay for a mint/NOS example

These are reasonably plentiful on eBay and the like. A couple of auctions have ended in the last week for decent examples.

Thanks, David! I normally check eBay fairly often, but i haven't really come across anything that meets my criteria. Could you perhaps link to some of the examples you are talking about? I would not be surprised, if my poor searching skills where to blame

I don't have any saved in my eBay unfortunately as I recently had a purge of 'ended items' to free up space.

Have a search of completed sales though. There's a good number in there. They do seem to have increased in desirability recently. I'm the uk prices in auction for original dial in decent condition were c.£300 a few months ago. They currently seem to be exceeding that.

The problem is that i am not looking for dials in decent condition, but dials in almost perfect condition, which i am having a hard time finding!
I am more than willing to pay a very good price for one such - especially a Seamaster 600

The thing i would like the most, is a 135.011 or 136.011 in an almost NOS condition, but i am unsure, if such even exist today!
A perfect example but with gold index could be of interest as well!

 

I still don't think that's too hard to find. Seamaster 600's are quite common. Look through the various threads on this forum and you'll see most members who have 600's have dials with very few/no flaws.

Part of the problem maybe that the pics you posted are of watches that have likely been serviced ready for sale. Plenty of examples pop up before they've had this kind of preparation, but have potential to end up like that with a service, case clean (not polish) and new crystal.

I picked this up a few months ago. The crystal was shot, but the dial underneath is pretty much pristine.

Yes, you are probably right! I dont mind paying the money required for examples that are "ready to sale", as long as the condition is good
But its definitely a good point!

I absolutely agree with @Davidt3449 that a good one will turn up if you are prepared to wait a bit. Here's a near NOS Seamaster auto 552 I got on ebay not long ago for a very reasonable price. Not a 600 and I'm not trying to sell it to you, just making the point that time capsules are still out there.

That is a lovely one you got there. I personally prefer manuals, but let me know, if you at some point are looking to offload it! I am a big fan of dauphine hands!

The search is pretty wide - steel Omegas from 50/60´s with a near perfect dial and hands. The case can have some dings and scratches here and there
