Like buses...another W10 is currently listed on ebay...

I wonder if the fact the Bonhams watch is featured in print will have a negative impact on the price.

As said, it will be interesting to see.

Why would it have a negative impact?

It has been seen before whereby issued watches have not reached the expected highs due to exposure in the public realm where full issue and serial numbers are disclosed to all.

On the other hand, a buyer may see it being featured in a book as a positive and feel that adds value.

So, it will be interesting to see.

Hmm... i don't see why that should have a negative impact at all.

The W10... A204/67, shown in John Goldbergers book "Omega Sportwatches", was last year sold by the Davidoff brothers and I'm pretty sure it changed ownership for some big bucks.

But without a doubt one W10 will be difficult, if not even impossible to sell at all... THE original 254/67... being the mother of all fakes. ;)

I’d happily buy it at the low estimate - regardless.

Bonhams added further pictures. Still looking nice, however, there is no archive extract mentioned.

I have the adjacent issued number and also wondered why there is no mention of an extract, The movement serial number is quite a way from mine - approx 14,000, but an extract would confirm if delivered to the British military.

Some people are just eager to sell and can’t be bothered with the wait for an extract, as they might miss the auction date. Also, auction houses doesn’t pay for extracts and have no way of speeding up an extract.

How many SM300 and especially W10 have been sold for significantly more than 30.000 €? According to my info about seven 0552 but just one W10. So a pretty usual result I would say.

The W10 is rarer by a scale of approx 3 to 1 versus the 0552 so is not coming to the market with the same frequency.

Probably the no archives scared some potential buyers off...

Sure a W10 is much rarer. Don't wanna be a smartass, but I've just questioned the statement "A very soft result...especially for a W10" assuming a W10 is worth more than a 0552. Considering all known sale results that's not the case. ;)
