Just as the title says, has anyone used him before to restore a band?

Many positive reviews. Although it sounds like the turnaround time is quite long. I haven’t personally used him, but he restored the band on a Rolex I own for the previous owner before I purchased it. Good work.

I have used Michael Young to restore a stretched out 1039 bracelet.

They estimated a turnaround time of 4-6 weeks and the actual time taken was closer to the latter.

Band came back great and I am considering to send them my 7912 bracelet to restore as well.

He did a Rolex Jubilee bracelet for me. Actually I doubt he does any of these anymore but his staff does it. The bracelet looked great but they do polish it for those that want to avoid that.

I’ve used them as well. You can specify the work you want carried out. They said have a hand written note with the bracelet so they perform the work as requested.

    Cheers

I have used the band restoratiion services a couple of times. He does a great job, takes a while (6 weeks is fast in my experience) and communications are often spotty.

I believe Rik Dietel @ TimeCare in the US offers (or did) a similar service, though I haven’t use myself.

Relative to the cost of a rare vintage bracelet, no.

I have had good experience with him as well, and it didn’t seem to take too long, maybe I hit him at a slow period!

Does he actually do the work anymore? I dont think he does.
Ive had several Rolex bracelets done in the past and the quality of the work was not always the best. Its decent, but defiantly not great.

I have one bracelet that came back so stiff it can double as a watch stand....even 3-4 years later its still too tight.

A friend had a gold Rolex bracelet worked on. As stated above it was decent but not great. Still, it added more life to an otherwise tored bracelet.

I’ve used him several times before. One job, a 14k jubilee, was amazing. The other jobs were decent. All took a very long time and communication was next to zero.

Just this week I used a company out of San Fran named Sand Hill watch to redo a 14k 7205 rivet. Extremely pleased with all aspects—excellent comms, very reasonable price, and short turnaround. Turned a broken up, completely unusable bracelet into this:

I've recently used him for bracelet tighten and dial restoration in which i also was recommended to do a full over haul of the movement.... incredible work he is a bit backed up i was told 6-8 weeks which was pretty accurate. Hope this helps.

interesting. i recall they posted on another forum soliciting interest in such services for a us based company. i guess they decided to move forward with it. must be good demand as i've not heard of anyone else providing these services other than michael young.

personally i've had some email communications with michael young all of which were very cordial but haven't actually used their services.

I thought I read that Gray & Sons (the gray market dealer) was also offering this service now. There might even be a YT video IIRC.

Another positive endorsement for Michael Young.

Had a dent in my smurf fixed like new.

I think that’s a harder work than bracelet restoration (which he has perfected already).
