Hello, anyone got anything good or bad to say about Classic Watch Repair based in Hong Kong? I am specifically looking at their bracelet restoration but am also considering sending them watches to overhaul.

    Any words of advice?

They restored a 93150 bracelet for me, and I was very pleased with their work.
Price was as quoted, and it was done on time.

He repaired the bracelet on my Rolex 1501 before I purchased it. Can’t speak to price or turnaround as the seller handled it, but the work is top notch.

MY refurbished my Rolex Oyster 6636 bracelet which had a lot of broken springs. That work was fine, quoted price was what I paid and turnaround time was a touch better than expected. However it seems the default is to polish -- certainly bracelets, I don't know about watch heads. Whatever instructions you have do not just email them, write them out and attach firmly to piece.

Regular wearing is putting scratches back on the bracelet to match what I've done to the head over nearly 50 years.

He did a two-tone jubilee bracelet for me. Came back great but as said before they do polish. A polished jubilee bracelet doesn’t bother me very much but you can ask for no polishing if you prefer. I was satisfied

Plenty of excellent reviews on here for bracelets.
Would prefer not to send any watch head overseas due to the possibility of loss in transit.

Had a tudor 93150 bracelet that was a mess (got on ebay) that Michael restored - did a great job. As others said, came back polished, but this was such a mess I didn't mind. Price quoted was WAY cheaper than anyone else I could find in the US. Turnaround time was 6 weeks. Highly recommended.

Bracelets Yes, absolutely. Brilliant. Bracelets, definitely.

Lovely guy, great setup, and much more efficient now his wife is working in the office.

But remember his main focus is now Undone watches.

Sent a 7206 folded oyster bracelet, came back loose and not as advertised. Also, his turnaround time and communication was not stealer to say the least. I for one will not do any business with him. Additionally, I know of 2 other collectors who have had similar experience. I know he's well known and respected, I'm sharing with you my experience.

I have just sent my 5th watchband to Michael for restoration. I have had only good experiences as the previous four have come back completely fixed and either polished or not, to my specification.
Pricing has always been what's quoted and turn around times have been quite good to Australia.

    Cheers,
    Buster

Plenty of positive reviews of his bracelet repair work, but somehow and unfortunately for me, my first and only bracelet repair experience was no good. A collector friend who was privy to my whole transaction went so far as to advise that in his view, no work was actually done on the bracelet I sent over and received back. Did not follow up as I did not have 'before' pictures of the watch..
I also bought one of his tropic dome crystals, received a wrong one, and he swiftly remedied the situation. Very happy with the outcome, no problem at all.

My mate trusted them, used them and was very disappointed. In fact the words unscrupulous, untrustworthy and deceitful were used! On that basis I will certainly not be using them.
Sorry it’s not first-hand: your decision.

Thank you for the advice. I will certainly print and wrap the instructions around the bracelet when I do send it over. Out of interest, did you send them your endlinks as well? I spoke to htme once and they said not to send them the endlinks. Would be very strange to have a polished bracelet and unpolished endlinks.

Thanks, I am also hesitant to send watches overseas. Fingers crossed I find someone local soon!
