    Dear all,

As a new member of the forum, first thing first, my name is Julien , 28 , from France.
And after a few years with my Seiko kinetic/ sapphire/Titanium, that I really enjoy, I never had a watch that is so light and easy to wear all day long, that I use for every day (SKA333P1 with blue dial).
I need something more classy for daywork with my suit.
And I hate humongus watches, unlike the trend ...
    So...
I want to pick up this one next week, the only thing is that by checking the number on omega database, the watch detail is said to be gold plated
    here is a photo

and here is the reference : 511.0404

Does Omega produced both type or is it a franken-watch?

    Thank's for the advice

Yours is either plated in white gold (it did come that way) or a stainless version of the same watch reference number, but it would be helpful to see images of the inside of the watch

And what's your opinion about this as a first Omega?
Is it easy to live with? reliable?

It wouldn't be my first choice honestly, its a style from an era that is mostly forgotten

Very much like the classic Cartier Tank.

The caliber 625 movement in your watch is an evolution of the caliber 620, a simple and reliable hand wind movement, just be sure to have it serviced if you can't be absolutely sure it has been done recently.

Remember its your watch if you like it that's all than matters.

With a suit that's a decent choice. It's a reliable movement as long as you keep up on the maintenance, and a thin enough dress watch to easily slide under a cuff.

Yes, because you weren't born yet. You young whipper snappers need to pull your pants up so your underwear doesn't show, then go buy some proper clothes. A suit is more than something you wear to court. :coffee:

Unfounded hearsay ! OK, Maybe Dennis had a leisure suit. But that was no worse then your 2000's fascination with the Nero-Matrix look.

:) With this remark, I was wondering which type of watch got the pope!
and he's got something ... German... A very conservative look for very conservative pope..
and I never heard of this brand!

Last precision : the price is about 120 pounds/ 150 euros and it had been serviced.. so what's your final point of view?

    +1!!!
If you like the watch (and I do like the tank style, but yet to find a watch and price that appeals) and it all checks out, go for it!!! :)
