    https://mentawatches.com/product/universal-geneve-exotic-tri-compax-2/

Saw it on his IG, and wonder if anyone has any comments on it?

Second hand looks wrong to me, and perhaps top sub dial font "29" looks abit less textured when I was looking at other Exotic examples. Considering the seller's history, always good to study and to compare/contrast with other examples.

Not a bad example. Nice clean movement with sharp looking screws and case has numbers (always a bonus). There are a couple of issues that although not major that a collector would probably want to sort out. They are :

    1. The seconds runner is too short and not of that period (late 60s).
    2. The seconds register hand is not correct.
    3. Minute counter hand is a non UG replacement

That is about it. I should not be too difficult to find original hands and end up with a very desirable rarely seen tri-compax moon with slate dial !

I had a feeling that the red chronograph hand is not right, but did not dig further.

Although the straight seconds hand is certainly more common, you do see this style of seconds hand on the Clapton and Evil Clapton occasionally (881101/01 and 881101/02 respectively).

I've also seen other examples of this exotic tri-compax (881101/03) with this style of seconds hand. There is an example below albeit this is missing the tri-compax text and has different hour and minute hands.

Is it wrong on all of the 881101 references, irrespective of the serial number?

Yes, quite right. However, it is too short (the tip should reach and slightly go over seconds chapter) and too late a serial number for the early hand ...

Silver hour and minute hands do not belong on the 03 Compax, it is a tell of a watch that has been “fiddled” with.

Interestingly mentawatches/Adam Goldman sent me a message when I posted his watch to be asked to look at.

Ending that message with motherly advice is pretty funny. Tell him instead you mother taught you never trust dealers ;)

When you sell a large volume of vintage watches they are all not going to be 100% perfect. Which is fine. And someone pointing out something that isn’t perfect for discussion is also fine, and shouldn’t be met with hostility

I don't know this particular ref in detail, although at first glance it looked to me like there were some issues with the hands, which Dean confirmed. I don't see why posting a watch for critique should be a problem, it is routine, particularly at this price point. Have you ever bought a watch from Adam, or had any other interactions?

I have only enquired on a 165.024 last year when I was looking for one.

I did check around with other members of the board and a few members did mentioned of their negative experience with him.
