I was reading an interesting thread that I've since mislaid that mentioned that some blue, rectangular Megaquartz watches had a starburst dial that resulted from the hand application of a crystalline substance. Was Omega doing the same thing on certain Dynamic dials back in that era? I've seen some that look similar but have never seen mention of what the company was up to on those. I wonder what you all know?
Pre quartz, electric movement that used a running fork to regulate the watch. They make a light humming sound.
So, this adventurine sounds very rare, so it must not be what they used to give the stardust effect to the Dynamics. It must be some other mass production technique. Really looks cool - whatever they did!
OK I will play (For information try omega marine chronometer on Wikipedia) You can try searching through my old posts but the watch you are referring to is this one
Too kind! I took a couple more in the day light, as that earlier pic was rubbish. To be fair, this doesn't anywhere near the sparkle of the Megaquartz dials but it does have some if you look close it is definitely has a something in common:
I'm gonna have to switch to my home computer before I start googling these watches. Can't risk it on this work issues laptop
