I have a circa 1961 Constellation serial 18849xxx. The caliber is 561. Does anybody know what the meaning of each of the digits in ref 14393? Mine is followed by a 4 and I have seen others which have a different number after the space.

Its just that model of Constellation, I'm not sure that generation of reference numbering system actually had meaning per digit though later ones did but then didn't again and now its all a bit long and weird. I think they must be on at least their 7th or 8th reference numbering system by now and only a handful of them made a great deal of sense when broken down.

If you don't like the answer you get. Keep asking until you do. I used to do that to my parents when I was real young, you know. You don't like moms answer so you try dad. But also I finally realized it wasn't working when I was around 10 yrs. old.
