...to borrow from an old jingle for RC Cola (yup I'm that old ;) ).
The Speedy 105.012-66 CB is finally serviced and ready to admire! I had forgotten how the lug ends appear wider than the 105.012-65 I've been wearing so often...

Tough (impossible?) to capture the flat lug facets all together, but if you'll forgive the reflection in the crystal, I captured three out of four...

So happy to have it back!

    Hi
I'm actually also wearing one of these this morning. I'll post that one later. Just one question concerning the movement number of these. THE Book (moonwatchonly) states, that the 105.012-66 were produced up to 1968. I've seen one on the net with a quite high number. And mine has a number in that area as well. Might it be possible, that some of these had these high number or is it highly probable that the movements have been switched? Maybe some of you who have a -66 can help.
    Regards, Thomas

Mine has a 254,4xx,xxx serial. I did wonder if the movement was original but it doesn't seem to be unusual to have 24m or 25m serial no's on these watches, presumably because they were available for some time after 1966.

like most things speedmaster from this period, I assumed there will be overlaps and blurred lines between when cases were manufactured, when movements were picked to be installed and when complete watches were delivered to dealers and subsequently sold.

I expected a lot of chatter about antiquated radio equipment and a few 10-4's in this thread. Goes to show what I know. :p

You do know eventually we'll just make a Speedmaster sub-forum and not tell you about it ;)
