·I recently purchased a SMPc from mdgrwl (Matt) from a posting at the WUS site.
First the good. Extremely prompt replies, great communication. Fantastic pictures of watch (he's a photographer) and he shipped the watch very quickly after receiving a wire transfer. Watch and contents were as described and pictured.
Now the not so good. I was trying to decide between buying the watch from mdgrwl, which he stated would have the Omega warranty,or another seller that offered the same watch for a bit less with their own in house 4 year warranty. I asked Matt what the Omega warranty was on the watch he was selling. He replied that it was 4 years.
Several hours after receiving the watch I started looking at some of the included items, including the original hang tag. It said 3 year warranty on it. I contacted Matt and he said he must have been mistaken and it actually has a 3 year warranty. In the feedback thread at WUS he admits he made a mistake. We can all make mistakes. Character is defined by what is done in the wake of a mistake. No compensation of any type was offered, and I didn't feel it was my place to have to ask. I have no doubt it was an inadvertent mistake, though I did mention to him the other seller offered a 4 year warranty. I still choose to believe that he probably didn't do it on purpose.
The more I have thought about it, the more a year of warranty coverage is a somewhat big deal, at least potentially. I am happy with the watch, but not happy that I was given misinformation and not offered any type of compensation or solution. At this point it will probably keep me from doing any further transactions with mdgrwl and I wanted others to know about my experience.
