Purchased this watch on impulse.. does anyone know if it can be cleaned? Is it possible to get a real caseback for it?

On a different note, does anyone have thoughts on this model:

I've considered purchasing both and flipping the one I like the least...

The case back on the watch you purchased is a genuine Omega part. What makes you think its not real?
One issue you have is that the watch is missing a bezel. This will be difficult to source.

Thanks for the response. As far as the missing bezel, do you know how much would it cost to source?

Can you speak to the second link?

Bezel will be nearly impossible to find. Best bet would be to look for a donor case for a bezel and un-engraved back.

Second watch is quite nice but won't go cheap.

Flipping ebay watches will always cost you I'm afraid.

Who ever knew you could use vice grip as an alternative to a spring bar tool

Oh yes. Very fragile bezels on this case. Unusual not to have a seamaster back but totally agree with past comments. 2nd watch is nice. Will go for over £400 UK I'm sure. EBay or epray.

So I spoke with the seller and didn't end up buying the first watch. Did end up buying the second. Ended up paying a bit more that I would have liked ($630 USD shipped). Ended up in a bidding war with another bidder (hopefully not someone from this forum!!)

Hi. I don't think that's too much for a very good watch. Not far off what I guessed. Hope. It all works out well. Regards jon

Rzdh, I think you did very well on this, it's in such nice condition. I was watching this one also but did not bid on it. Congratulations on an excellent purchase!

Watch from a few months back looks like it has some rust on the dial especially around the 12 & 3...there is also some rust on the movement (silver gears). The one you ended up with is in over all better condition and is an automatic movement as where the other is a hand wound movement. So to answer your question, I think you did far better with the one you have.
