I would definitely consider taking the train up to NYC to see this, have a mini G2G with other OF members, etc. Adam, if you want me to send this out in an email to the Mid-Atlantic G2G member list to gauge interest, let me know via PM.

Looks interesting. The Shuttle on the Intrepid is a must see. Nothing like being able to walk under it and around it to get a sense of the scale. Adding other Apollo features can only make it more interesting.

Thanks for the heads up.

Throw in a Concorde and an SR-71 just for kicks, too

This is good timing. My daughter received one of those museum passes from school that allows free admission to over 90 museums/zoos/gardens in NYC . Intrepid is included and was on my list to visit with my entire family.

I'm down to go if there's a mini GTG later this year. It's only a train ride away.

I dunno, can you ride a train while wearing a Speedmaster?

Bumping this one up as the exhibit opens in 2 weeks (and runs through the beginning of September, so there's no huge rush)

The weather's warming up here in fits and starts, but I think an April or May date would be cool to all go and check it out.

For my 17,000th post I shall be pedantic, it’s an A-12 not an SR-71.

Slightly different and actually slightly faster.

Never really bothered to look into it, just always enjoyed the view of those tailfins from the West Side Highway 😀

Trip report since I just went today with the kids. The Apollo exhibit was awesome. Great information and plenty to see from the Gemini spacecraft to spacesuits to moon rover to the giant Enterprise hanging over your head. Basically a must visit if you're into space travel.

I didn't spend enough time there to through everything since I was with the kids but it was a very good exhibit. The Intrepid itself is enough reason to visit with all those aircrafts on the flight deck so this Apollo exhibit is just cherry on top.

Some pics below.

I'm still down to go again if we have a GTG. I think Cool Culture pass can get 5 adults in for free (just need to wait in line to actually get the ticket).

I’d like to try for a gtg down there if it works out.

Just went Monday. Wonder how many forum members we passed by unknowingly. Maybe we should wear name tags? 😀
