Sorry if you are already aware of the Brexit consequence that will hit many of us Watch out for 20% plus increase in any purchases brought into the UK as customs and agents fees are pilled on your watch I have learned the hard way with a £52 cost on an eBay parts purchase and a £500 hit on a German auction buy Please be aware as this now makes home buying top choice Cheers
Welcome aboard, Roger! We need to hear more about your experiences, here... https://omegaforums.net/threads/has-anyone-in-the-uk-made-a-purchase-from-the-eu-for-more-than-%C2%A3135.125415/ and/or here... https://omegaforums.net/threads/anyone-imported-a-watch-yet-after-brexit-to-uk-from-eu.125148/
As I said in one of these threads as uk market is so small it’s now worth looking elsewhere and used the $ rate as an advantage. Prices can be competitive even after customs/vat.
Of equal concern is to UK sellers - poor exchange rate plus the fact EU buyers now have to pay their own country's VAT on used purchases make our potential market much, much smaller.
This sounds punitive, a deliberate attempt to put small businesses out of business altogether. It reminds me of the entertainment tax geared towards putting smaller movie theatres out of business in the USA.
Ahhh, and now you know the true purpose behind the Brexit movement, to squeeze all you Brit watch nuts of your loose change. You can afford it.
Sure. However, isn't that the whole point of brexit? What were you thinking? That you British were actually Europeans? LOL
Sorry mates, but I am really surprised that you are surprised of all that. Did you vote to exit EU and wanted to be like in EU? C'mon...
