This Marvin chronometer with original NSA bracelet is a new addition.

I don't know much about this model except that Marvin trademarked the term "Chronometer Victory" in April 1963. The reconstituted Marvin Watch Co. seems to think highly of it, including a mention of it and a disappointingly low-resolution advertisement of a similar cushion-case model. It's a very comfortable shape and size (35 mm across, 40 mm lug-to-lug), and the bracelet is one of my favorites.

I haven't found out anything about the movement - Marvin Cal 776. Don't know whether it is in house or based on another manufacturer's ebauche. Maybe someone will recognize it.

Choice from left field, but I like it (or I should say "that's a reason why I like it"), and certainly one can't fault the condition. I am concerned that the starfish is so flaccid though. :(

The choice was influenced by a recent reading of von Osterhausen's book (Wrist Chronometers), some interesting threads on the Italian and German fora, a desire to branch out into some underrated brands, and a very attractive price on this one... I've paid more for this bracelet alone (with a Zenith clasp). Oh yeah, forgot the bracelet clasp pic:

The quality is high and it's a very comfortable watch to wear... very happy with bang for watch-buck with this one.

Hey, that starfish is flaccid because it's a happy, wet starfish. A turgid starfish is a dead starfish.

The starfish should be dry if the watch is waterproof?

No no, that starfish is on the outside.

I love the NSA bracelets too, but they can't make fitted endpieces to save their lives.

Need I point out, sir, that the starfish resides on the outside of the watch?

Quite happily and flaccidly, I might add, because that's where all the wetness is.

No, no, no. What you have there is a rare saphire sandwich, with the starfish underneath the saphire.

Well that depends on how the flaccidity occurred. That starfish might be damned happy after all.

I don't know about the reborn Marvin but some fun facts about the originals.
    - Marvin held very many and significant early patents
    - Presumably for the patents and the knowledge they were bought by ETA, more than doubling the number of patents held by ETA as a group
    - Supposedly Marvin were the first to certify a chronometer
    - Good little worn and well maintained original Chronometer Victory watches are still very good indeed and imho an elegant and comfortable watch to wear.
