A new arrival that might interest the Zenith and UG crowd... a relic from that brief and shining moment in the 50's when Martel played établisseur: Seller's movement shot of the primal-sounding Cal 1111: More than a little like a Zenith 2511 (Ranfft): .
VERY interesting transitional piece. As clear it is that Martel made the chronograph and otherwise complicated movements for UG, I'm not sure that Martel made any three hand movments for them, so that makes this the Ur-movement for a whole generation of Zenith automatics. Further, it looks as if Martel may have carried on the case numbers from their UG pieces, although the references were changed (or maybe just started with 1000000, but no way they had sold that many watches by the time this was marketed. NIce historical piece, and nice piece regardless.
