Well I have to admit I have a small addiction to the Mark series. Fits my personality I suppose, casual, sporty and a bit odd at times but what can I say I love them all. I started w the speedy aka mark uno but never really called that but it lead me to researching some of the older and new models out there. I first stumbled on the vintage mark II but opted to get the new reissue racing dial instead. Somehow, at the time I did not feel like dealing with another manual wound watch. The mark 4.5 grabbed my attention 1st because of all the hands and I had only heard good things on the 5100 lemania movement rebadged 1045 so had to have it. Then came the mark 4 well just because I could get one w box and papers in tip top shape I went for it and never looked back. Not sure I enjoy the 1040 movement as much as the 1045 but it certainly is a good watch. Does not seem to kick start as fast as the 1045 but I do love the patina on this one. Well you guest it I had to have one more and so I found a vintage 1970 Mark II. While it looked pretty rough on the outside a good cleaning and service just did that beauty a favor. Sporting it on NATO because I ran out of 20mm straps so soon it will have appropriate shoes. This one also has a great looking brownish dial and nice patina on the hands. So this is it folks, I may venture one day toward a mark III volcano or flight master but I have never seen either one in the flesh so I am not sure I want to take the plunge . So there is your opportunity to share your favorite Marks right here right there .
Very nice thread, Thanks for sharing! The older brother of your Racing Dial (with a bit of Grey Fading)
These watches seem under appreciated in today's Speedy Pro mania. At least they tend to be more affordable -- which is great for me! MkII MkIV Mk4.5
Just got my first Mark, a vintage racing dial Mark II for my birthday Almost makes getting older worthwhile
Welcome! To the forum! A long shot, but You're not the drum and bass DJ Kenny Ken are you per chance? Anyway, what A great present to receive! Can we see some pictures please? All the best Nathan
Sorry, now I know, they'll be no more D&B references from me! Nice watch, looks nice and original too. This is a great forum and source of knowledge - Welcome.
That's a nice MkII family you got there! Here's mine, although this one is not the purist one in the herd or a perfect specimen, I enjoy it quite a lot too!
My mark III - slowly getting the love it needs to stay in my wrist. The case is somewhat off putting for me due to the raised profile, but sits nicely after all.
