Mappin Vintage Watch - Original Dial or Refinish?

Hi all,

Can anyone tell me if this watch has an original dial or it has been refinished? It looks a refinish to my untrained eye, but someone here might be able to advise.

I have contacted the seller and she says she is selling off her father in laws old watches that he purchased in Portobello twenty five years ago?

And are the dates and months correctly displayed?

Thanks in advance for any help or light that can be shed. I like the watch but I usually desire only original dials.

Redial.

The crescent should wrap around the number on the edge of the dial denoting the date, not cover it. Second possibility is somebody installed a crescent date hand that was too long. Odds favor redial greatly.

Actually, I think all the hands have been replaced. They are all too long.

Look at the minute track as it passes by the subdials. It almost touches the left one, while there is a pronounced gap on the right one. Also, look at the dashes behind all of the hour markers. Some are longer than others. I could go on too.

Dial appears to have lume plots but hands are not lumed.

Its a refinish. You can see the print for the registers are not centered.
