How far off is the asking price, assuming it's real?

 

Price seems ambitious to me, especially considering the lack of photographs showing the sides and back of the case, or the written side of the warranty card.

I sadly acted too slowly on a very lightly used one 2+ years ago that went for less than $4k USD. I just could not see paying close to double that amount for this watch, although the rarely come up for sale these days. I suspect the seller may not get any bids since the starting bid is so high.

 

It has already been relisted once. I was thinking about $4000-$4500 usd. Is that optimistically low?

 

While I could see it selling for $5k, I personally would not go above the price range you are thinking about if you intend on actually wearing it. And of course I would want to see more photos, because I am skeptical that it is BNIB.

The last one I saw on eBay (prior to this) was out of Japan for $6200. I don’t remember if it had a best offer option but it sold. That was last summer I believe.

 

People can ask whatever they want, but that’s far away from a reasonable price.

I recently put a ding on the bezel insert of mine, nothing too serious. You see them on sale so rarely it is difficult to estimate what a fair sales price would be.

 

I love El Primero anyway but had never heard of Mango. Now I love them even more.

I sold one of these a couple of years ago, the ad is still around here somewhere, as it the watch with another forum member.

If it's truly NOS (and not just shopworn or lightly used) it will have the Zenith purple goo still on the case back and sides.

 

Dear god, that was one of the most frightful characters in the history of that show.

 

That's crazy, I got my rainbow rainbow for under $3k, in great condition with box last year.

 

Big price differences between elite and rainbow though. I don’t know what a normal price is anymore but they (mango rainbow) seem to be selling quickly now at $7,000 +

 

Hence my reference to “normal”. Hoping that some wis grants a favor to another wis... One can always hope that I’m not the only person who believes that what goes around, comes around.

 

Why Mangos are so wanted? Purely due to the esthetics, or is there any historical background
