Hi! Thought I would like to share some experiences I have gathered in my extremely amateurish world of photography. Up to now I have mainly been using my iPhone 5 with a focus control app when shooting pictures of my watches. Being the ever restless gadget guy, I decided to take it a step further. Since some years back I own a Panasonic Lumix GF1 micro 4/3 camera. I have a 20mm pancake f1.7 lens that I normally use for general purpose shooting and a 14-45mm zoom lens for other stuff. From my experiences none of these are very good for shooting close-ups. Having searched around the web I came across the use of extension tubes as a "poor mans macro" alternative. Having first bought some really plain tubes (non electric) I was slightly frustrated and disappointed since these made the whole setup extremely difficult. So, a few weeks back I came across the FOTGA extension tubes. Now the key difference is that these tubes also provides the electrical connections to my lenses, and hence, loads of automatic features for exposure control and light measurements (and surely a lot I know nothing of) now still works. Having some spare time this morning I rigged the camera on a tripod, set a 10mm extension tube between the 14-45mm zoom lens, and took a few test shots. I have been using a semi automatic program with manual Aperture control and manual focus. Light conditions this morning has not been the best (gray and dull), but I was quite pleased anyhow. Actually so pleased that I have included some in this post.
Very nice outcome, so much so That I must do the following... Beautiful Lemania! And dibs, by the way!!!
I think someone already called DIBS.... Only a hypothetical question really. One of my top 5 personal favourites in my collection. It will take some really serious convincing to make me let go of that one!
I especially love the first connie, and second Lemania watch pics. Helps that they are awesome watches too!
Its easy to see why its in your top 5! But I'm willing to wait it out for a really long time because its just so nice.
Thanx! My most expensive Lemania 3hand but it still came in cheaper than a tired Seamaster. It's a crazy world!!!
Well all I have to say is any time you feel the need to move it on just let me know, I'll be happy to take it off your hands without hesitation!!! (it sure would free up some money for the watch fund! )
Was just thinking that, and also if it was only my childish sense of humour...!! Maybe we should extend the thread?
