Speedmaster? Maybe you subconsciously wanted a different watch. ::stirthepot::

I have a movement, (or dozen) just need a cheap case dial, and hands ;>)

Missed the window on this style. I suspect they looked too modern, not realizing the design was half a century before it's time. Did not realize until starting to read the net in 2022 that these used the old movements. Curious how back in the day information was hard to come by and expensive. Textbooks dated and often about the exception than the rule. So there were gaps in what was available.

What a great photo - almost worth framing! Thanks 馃憤
Several of my clients frame theirs, actually. I usually have it printed as a 20x30cm poster.

Congrats! I picked one up from Watchco 15+ years ago and enjoyed it. Glad you're giving it a lot of daylight.

Well it cost an arm and a leg, but came with a verifiable history of the build, parts etc.
That's a great looking watch you have there!

I bought the parts and donor Geneve in 2014 and 2015. I got everything but the case, I think, from Ofrei based on info from around the web. Sent it all to a watchmaker for assembly, although I considered doing it myself for a week or so. Recently serviced after the initial assembly and service back then for the first time this year.

That鈥檚 a watch you definitely know the history of! Did you send it back to the original watchmaker for service?
