A cosmetically clean appearing watch movement can still be ready for servicing! Oil only last for so long before drying up! So if you are not certain what the service record of a clean appearing watch is, might be an idea to check before putting the watch into service.
If it wasn't clean, I'd be very unhappy (watch was only a few weeks old, getting a little regulation) A Sellita SW220, just in case you ever wanted to see one... I always thought this looked like a little constellation of rubies...
I learned to service my own watches because I wanted to see the movements. I think the UG 215 is the prettiest I’ve seen so far (picture is before cleaning unfortunately).
@micampe Here's a descendant of the beautiful patent pending UG 215 Microter - the cal 218-97. Some modifications were made so it beats at a higher frequency at 21600vph. Only 17 jewels- I'm guessing for export to the US along with the export code HON.
Not particularly beautiful or well finished, but the Valjoux cal. 9 is fascinating to watch in action.
I'll play. Although not in perfect condition (it's a donor for another one), I have a lot of love for the Junghans cal. 88 and the bridge reminds me a little of the 321 Valjoux 92 Minerva 13-20 CH Lemania 5100 IWC 37524 (ETA 2892-2 based) Valjoux 22
