For sale I have this very charming, and large for the time, 1950's Lord Elgin Shockmaster tank in a beautiful 14kt gold filled case.

This was actually the very first vintage watch that I ever bought, circa 2005, and I've been humming and hawing about selling it for probably the best part of 5 years...today I'm finally taking the step!

I don't know all that much about it to be honest only that I was very taken by the curvex nature of the case and crystal and also found the dial to be very attractive.

I had the watch serviced back in about 2007 and it hasn't been worn much at all ( actually- if at all ) since then, just taken out of the box and admired once in a while. It's time for somebody else to hopefully wear it.

The case, dial and movement are all in excellent condition.

The 14kt gold filled case has an interesting design to it with the flared shoulders and is pretty large for the period, measuring in at 25mm x 38mm. It is in excellent shape with beautiful curves and facets. Absolutely no wear through. There are initials engraved on the case back. The curved crystal is in perfect condition.

The 21 jewel Elgin 713 movement is winding smoothly, setting easily and keeping good time with a normal power reserve. As I mentioned it has been serviced whilst in my possession, but that was a few years ago.

Cool dial with raised gold arabics and dauphine hands, signed Lord Elgin and Shockmaster. Fitted to a new 18mm brown leather strap, so ready to go!
