Since you're looking to buy it, why don't you tell us why you want this particular watch.

Just like the look plus is local to me so I can save on import fees and shipping.

Good points. What have you been able to learn from your research?

Not much :D. I don't have the reference number and without that can't find out much. I know the case back doesn't look original which is an issue. Also the value is unknown to me. I seen similar watches in the same age group and price is all over the place. As long as the dial is ok and I am not overpaying I am happy I guess.

These pictures are of one of mine, purchased in Canada, from its original owner, in Canada. The watch is completely original (except for the crystal and strap), and it is the same watch as yours, except for the difference in dials. You'll get many opinions as to whether the dial has been refinished or not, but I'll be the first to offer an opinion, and state that it appears to be original. These are gold filled cases which means they are base metal with a veneer of gold alloy. The watch you are interested in shows the underside of the lugs has the veneer worn through to the base metal (as does mine). These cases often come marked with 20 microns, indicating gold thickness. Mine doesn't show that mark, and I suspect yours doesn't either. Such markings are not permitted in Canada. Allow that your watch probably should be the beneficiary of a thorough service if you buy it, so add some money to the purchase price before you buy. In short? Looks good to me. Maybe offer the seller $450.00 Canadian and see what happens. Let us know.

Looks like I need to drive an hour north and check out watches in Canada.

Well done! These are a fine watch, and properly serviced, looked after, and maintained, they will give years of service.
