Looking for thoughts on the Omega black rubber strap for the 42mm Planet Ocean

I'm thinking about getting the Omega black rubber strap for the 2201.50 42mm Planet Ocean. The model number is 98000144 for this version of the PO but I think Omega has different model numbers for similar looking rubber straps depending on the watch they go on.

I'm looking for thoughts on this rubber strap from a comfort and fit standpoint. I already know I like the look, but I'm concerned it might be too thick and not pliable enough to be comfortable. Some rubber or FKM straps don't have enough softness or pre-curved shape to comfortably wrap around the wrist. It's an expensive strap for what it is but I don't mind paying the money if the fit is comfortable. But it's wasted money if it's not comfortable.

Any thoughts would be welcomed. See the photos below for the type of strap I'm talking about.

Thanks!

BTW - I know Zealande makes a strap for this watch but I want to stick with Omega if I'm paying more than $100 for a strap. I already own a straight end black FKM strap that fits nicely and looks pretty good if I'm going the non-OEM route.

Actually, can anyone confirm what, if any, taper this strap has? At first I thought it was 20/18 but looking at additional photos I think it's possible there is no taper at all--20mm all the way.

My PO is on the bracelet, but if that strap is even half as comfortable as the SMP rubber strap, I think you'll love it.

I have these OEM straps on both my 2200.50 and 2201.50 and I like them a lot. Though they’re a bit chunky (no taper as Archer mentioned) and expensive ($$$!), the fit is excellent and I find them very comfortable.

Given the bracelets for the OG POs didn’t have adjustable clasps, I tend to keep the straps fitted during the summer months or when travelling to warmer climes. No issues with durability, and they still look like new.

Thanks for the replies. No taper is a deal killer for me. I need at least a 20/18 taper. I guess I'll look into Zealande after all.

good fit, yes.
IIRC, i had to use the 1.5mm spring bars as opposed to the 1.8mm ones but yea, it fits nicely,
here's a photo of my black dial mostly on rubber collection last year. (i obviously have a favorite style...lol)
it does not however fit my sword hands SMP (black blake or electric blue).

it sits better on the watch when on the wrist btw, ill toss it on the watch after work and snap a pic.

I bought a couple of straps for my SMP and other omega watches from Tempomat Straps , they have different options in FKM rubber and normal rubber and their price/quality is very good.

hope it helps

Have you considered the Aqua Terra strap? I used to use it on my PO LMLE - incredibly comfortable, tapered, deployment clasp and IMHO, looks fantastic.

I had not, but only because I did not know they were compatible. Is it a perfect fit?

I still haven't made it in to my local boutique so I'm still open to which rubber strap I choose.

It's been a while since I sold my PO LMLE but as I recall, it is a perfect fit. I'm pretty certain I used the original spring bars. I'll look for a pic and post it later.
