Hello (again) all, I was thinking it would be a good place to start a vintage collection with a watch from my birth year. However being such a young'n its not really all that vintage. So that being said... What do you guys suggest I consider from 1994? My budget would be between 400-700 USD. I've already been eyeing a few of the 50's & 60 Longines and Seamasters in the private watch sales. Thought '94 would be a fun place to start. Thank you very much for your time, Jake PS. I'm new but learning quickly!
I did my fair share of that and more while in college. The money I would be spending on booze is now a portion of my watch fund. The other portion goes toward spoiling my girlfriend.
Oh, maybe I should answer the question too. 1994 was in a bad period for watches. However, you can find some Longines that have the caliber 99x series inside. They're gonna be dressier and smaller pieces though. There might be a Seamaster 120 with a rebadged ETA inside (I think Omega would have called it the caliber 1109 or 1120 then) that you might like and fall at the top end of your budget. EDIT: Doh! As I was typing, efauser beat me to the punch above.
It wasn't only the price of it, it was the quantity and frequency of it. Then I realized how unhealthy it was and how much money I would be saving if I stopped and it was one of the best choices I could have made.
Did that with smoking 15 years ago. Now I'm 35 lbs heavier but I can breathe. I'll take that trade off any day.
