Hi everyone. This week my impulses got the best of me and I picked up this vintage solid gold Omega chrono without doing my due diligence. So... (A) forgive me father for I have sinned, and (B) Can anyone please help me in identifying this movement, that may or may not be an unsigned Cal 321? I'm told the bridge was replaced, hence no omega signature, but when I hear that I become instantly skeptical about the movement as a whole. On the bright side it was a lowball offer that got me into this mess and if it's not the original movement I have grounds to return it.

Thanks in advance OF friends. Omega3.jpg

Whatever it is it's a complete mess, love how the regulator is twisted completely off the balance bridge, or is that a rare serial number indicator?

It’s not an unsigned 321, it’s too early for that but it could well be Omega 27 Chro or possibly a Lemania C27 (same thing) with a swapped bridge ie not an Omega movement at all. This is the precursor to the 320/321 before that name was actually used and was used by other manufacturers. It is also very poorly. If it was an Omega movement it would say so IMO

Okay thanks so much for that info. It is pretty early (probably early 50's so that makes some sense. Looking at other movements online it does look pretty rough, and the crown doesn't feel original either. Something to think about...

If Omega, the 10.8m serial is mid 1940s. The movement was I believe used by Omega from 1946 if Ranfft is to be believed. I don’t like it at all as an original Omega movement, it would say Omega, though 10.8 is about right for 1946/7.
