So I'm kind of lost with where I want to go with my collection. None of my pieces are particularly rare and could potentially be purchased again someday. Some of them are also so inexpensive it wouldn't make sense to sell them in my eyes. (I may make a whole thread out of this dilemma in the future).

So what kind of enabling am I looking for? Well, I am in the "you don't know unless you try it" phase right now. And I'm thinking I want to try a rose/pink gold Seamaster with a bumper and a light dial. Capped or filled because solid gold would be well out of my price range.

Pink gold and bumper because I've never had either! So why not hit two birds with one stone.

Please note this is not a WTB thread. I'm just hoping you guys can share some of your pink bumper Seamasters so I can have them all in one thread for reference/enablement. If you are able to include the ref. And caliber it would be very much appreciated.

Thanks guys, and happy Easter to those celebrating.

    -Jake

    Personally I'd avoid plating...

Avoid all platings/cappings/fills? Or just plating because it's thinner?

Gold capped cases are anywhere from 8 to 12 times the thickness of gold as most gold-filled cases. More information here.

Unless it has been horribly over-polished you should have no problems with a gold-capped case.

Here's my pink gold capped Seamaster Calendar. Cal. 353, Ref. 2627.

    Hi,
I have had this gold caped Seamaster Chrono over 10 years and the only problem has been finding new pushers, Omega has stopped providing them... Now we have a couple more gold capped watches in the family and no problems with the capping.

Thank you for linking that essay @gatorcpa. My avoidance of gold watches this far has obviously led to a significant lack of knowledge on my part. I was never aware the difference was so significant. Thanks @mondodec for writing the essay.

So pink gold capped only. And I'm there are Connie and Geneva refs out there with bumpers as well. Time to get the books (google)

Try a gold out first ( doesn't have to be Omega ) this was my first gold watch as I was like you avoided them early on
( picked this up at a bargain )

I have two gold watches! a little Benrus and Bulova Oceanographer and I love wearing them. My comment was more directed at my lack of knowledge between capping/plating etc.

Thank you! I actually picked it up on here from @peatnick last year. I'm actually considering selling my devil divers and keeping this one.

As I stated in the first post I'm kind of lost with where I want to go with the collection at the moment lol

Well just know that I may be looking for that Bulova now.
    I agree keep it!

I'm too that point as well, maybe thinking I need to go a different direction.
