Been searching for my first speedmaster for a while now and this one popped up locally. Owner purchased it new in 74, wore it infrequently for the first year, then put it away. He sent it away in 09 to be serviced and is asking 5250 for it. No box or papers, speedmaster101 shows this model in good condition should fetch around 3100. It seems to be legit from what I've read, what do you guys think?

Looks fine, but I'd keep looking and stick to Speedmaster101 as a guideline, however expect to pay a premium for an exceptional dial. ;)

+1 strange to have picture of inside case back but no movement. Suspicious if so.

I'm with you, first pic seems to show a step on a 74. Interesting.

Yeah me too, first thing I asked for was a picture of the movement. Don't have a local omega shop here, he had it shipped out for service. Jeweler who sent it out was afraid to take the inside cover off as he wasn't familiar with omegas. I know a local guy that works on omegas, was thinking about getting the seller to meet me there to verify the serial number.

My opinion i would pass. This isnt collector grade my opinion. So this is overpriced. Have some patience. A nice speedy will pop up here with someone whos reputable. For a good price as well. Just my two cents. Good luck.

It's ok, but the hands, lack of movement shot, the fact that it looks like it's seen a bit of a polish (and are those marks on the minute sub dial or just dust/reflection/marks on the crystal), mean there's no way I'd be paying anywhere near 5100 for it.
