·Howdy all,
New here. I have my late grandfather’s Seamaster, the case is engraved with 14725, it has a 570 movement, and the serial number on the movement dates it to 1961. When I received it, it was in parts, movement and case separately with no crystal. I took it to an Omega boutique to send to Switzerland for restoration, but after 6 months they sent it back and said they couldn’t do anything. I brought it to a local watchmaker just to get it running so it’s useable, and I love it, the only thing is he had to use a replacement crown as I received the watch with no crown. I would like to get an original if possible, but I’m slightly confused with part numbers. I haven’t seen a 14725 from 1961, only 1960, so I’m wondering if it’s a transitional model, or somewhat frankensteined. I’ve seen photos with crowns with many grooves, or only a few. Either way, the watch is sentimentally priceless, and I would like it o get the original crown, here are some pictures below. Thanks in advance!
