Hello!
Newly registered user that has posted the same question on another forum but with no success. Hopefully someone here knows.
Copy of my post:

Hobbyist here that seek advice on how to lubricate the winding gears 590-1464 and 590-1470 in an Omega Seamaster cal 591. I searched the internet and found no examples of my problem(s).

  1. The guide says to rotate the wheels so that the spring contacting the roller becomes visible and place a small amount of oil at the contact point.

Problem is I rotate in freewheel direction but can’t see any spring. I do not dare to rotate hard in locking direction. should I? (I do not think the hole shows the rollers but rather the riveted plate, later version perhaps)

  1. The guide do not suggest to lubricate between the wheels. Should the be dry?

There were fine dark dust particles in the bridge, I am tempted to give the wheels some lubrication (Lubeta).
Thankful if you have experience with these and can give me advice.

Best Regards
Erik

The tech guide for the 591 doesn't indicate any lubrication for the winding wheels.
I would be tempted to clean them and a quick dunk in Lubeta, however you should wait for more qualified advice, from @Archer for example.

Thank you for your input!
I have cleaned them in the ultrasonic in one purified petrol jar and then IPA.
Did feed tiny tiny droplets of lubeta into the slot between the wheels and also at the arbour slot.
Does not seize up, rotates nicely.
But dit it actually lubricate the jewel inside, not possible to know.

I will also add the instructions on the last page. So that it is not just my description of it in text.

Thanks for that, my copy found on the internet some years ago doesn't have that page.
