The hour and minute hand move freely, but doesn't run after winding and it seems free and hear and feels smooth clicking
Trying to read all the scratches of numbers on the back case, are they from the original builder ? 11 49 1353
and then what?? subsequent service?? seems a like lots of numbers that don't really make date sense?
Also the 2254 that is stamped at the bottom where the movement number normally is.. means what?
I did try and look and couldn't find anything, with that number 2254
I know it needs a service, just remember a Long long time ago Dad saying he got it from an old friend to see he could get it running!
    Thanks for any insight
Best of the Christmas/ Holiday Season!

It is a pretty interesting watch.

The dial has been refinished at some point, but the movement is quite uncommon - have a look at the discussion here and note similarities and differences:

    https://omegaforums.net/threads/reference-2254-or-pretty-damn-close.8698/

The 4-digit number is the reference, the movement number (serial) is, unsurprisingly, on the movement itself.

You wouldn't happen to be from Canada, would you? There seems to be a Canadian connection to some of the 18 jewels movements.

2254 is the case reference. Google that and it will give the info you need. The movement number is the long number on the movement. The dial has been poorly repainted. I wouldn't waste money on it myself.

    1. Take it to a watchmaker to fix, clean and oil. DO NOT let him polish the case or touch the dial. That hurts its originality and value
2-Scratches inside are usually from watchmakers in previous services
    3-info: https://www.omegawatches.com/watch-omega-other-omega-ck-2254/
4-Closer in focus pics of the dial would help a lot.

Although the case is clearly marked as 2254 the watch is of a different reference - in fact it is the ref. CK 2337

This is a cross reference to CK 2254 (which was a chronometre) - they have used up left over cases of 2254 but have been too lazy to correct and update the reference number.

This ref. 2337 has always 18 J movements with shock protector wheras ref. 2254 had chronometre movements of different "evolutionary steps" starting with specially finished nickel plated 30 SC T2 with bulletin the marche and ending with the well known copper coloured 30 T2 SC Rg

Hope this helps to understand what we have here.

The dial of the OP has been refinished as several have stated already.

And it has completly wrong hands...
