re looking for first omega watch $1000-3k limit...go vintage or aqua terra?

hi there...first time here...looking to get my first omega..something in 39mm range
    (i have a smaller-med wrist, just about 7").

while i've read that 'vintage 50s to 60s watches' are a great place to look
for omegas at good prices (ala 'the watch snob' on 'ask men') i'm not sure
of the movements that are often listed.

...this all said, after first loving pics of the 'bond' seamaster series
i came across the aqua terra series (co axial, which i'd read elsewhere
that in 2017 omega will have in all their watches) ...wow, this AT model just imo
    really just combines a versatility
of sportiness and aesthetics that hits me between the eyes....yet i'm also trying
to find out if the 'seamaster' or 'railway' versions are only aesthetically different
    or mechanically, too.

any imputs are most appreciated..sorry to sound like a naive knob...but i guess i am
and hoping to get more informed.

Welcome canali, sounds like you want the AT, go for it, you can scrape together a few hundred for a vintage later on to wear as a change of pace.

Modern watches make terrific daily wearers, vintage pieces may not do as well depending on your wearing habits but do allow you to mix it up a bit . . . .

PS - love your jeans mate, wearing them now!

You could go for a classic vintage that isn't too expensive, but wears well. I love the ref 168.023. It's special as it's chronometer certified in a Seamaster case. They are widely loved.

I'd recommend getting opinions on this particular piece before you make a purchase. It has been on the bay for many months and you might be able to make a lower offer and get it for a good price.

Pics don't do these justice. They are beautiful in the metal with a sparkling dial.

    About $1000 USD as listed.

Nice choice, but not loving this particular example. Listing says it was totally overhauled, but pictures show a very dirty watch and no "o" ring inside the case.

    Something's fishy with this listing.

    Hi Canali

The modern AT IS BASED ON THAT SEAMASTER !

    Personally I would go vintage.....

    Good Hunting
