Background: Bought in 1926 in USA by my Norwegian friends grandfather. Still works. Band is obviously not original. Visited Houston this summer and took it with me to have jeweler look at it. No service history that I know of. How can we find: Identification Dating Model numbers Is it even serviceable any longer? If so, would the seals/parts have to be specially made? No official appraisal, but jeweler said in the ballpark of $5000, is this at all accurate? Looking for responses with an aim to identify potential and/or to identify defects + ways to bring this vintage Omega back to "wearable condition". Thanks!! Juan Can add more pictures if desired. I question the dating of 1926 on this watch! See the following from 1964 Seamaster 600... Almost identical case back and case back would seem to be from mid sixties...also case itself seems to be a sixties design. The jewelers appraisal of $5000, is this $5000 US, if so I don't get it...the watch is pretty beat up and most likely a sixties Omega. I could be wrong but don't think I am...others will chime in and give their opinion...
Probably a Seamaster 30 ref 125.007 caliber 268/9 (30mm). Introduced in 1962. Value about $150.00 for parts. $5000.00 valuation is completely ridiculous.
Hey Jim, if Juan gets $2500 from the jeweller make sure you don't let him take you to iHop, he'll be paying so hit Beaver's The restaurant that is
