Hi folks, I am a dedicated Longines collector from Germany and I am following the Longines section of the OF for quite a long time, as it is a great source of expertise and I think meanwile also the most active place for Longines collectors on the internet. Currently I am looking for a scalloped crown for my cal.290 Longines Conquest which is one of the favourite and most worn watches in my collection. I know these are exceptionally rare, but I think it is the same with many other spare parts for vintage Longines and maybe we can help each other out I would like to be more explicit to awaken the interest, but I am afraid it is against the OF rules. Looking forward for feedback on my quest and PMs as well.
What year is your Conquest? It would have to be from early 1961 or before for the scalloped crown to be correct. Oh, and paging @Pahawi - care to add your interesting thoughts on scalloped crown replacements?
I did mine in brass + gold plating (with great help from fellow members). Doing them in stainless steel is much worse, but the OP is not the first looking for one, so one day I might take up the Challenge
The serial of the conquest dates back to 1959 (starting with 11317XXX). I think that the scalloped crown is the correct one for that ref. (9020) and year. I have a similar Conquest (ref. 9024) dating back to 1960 (serial starting with 1141....) where the scalloped is attached. @BartH, thanks but I think I will not sell this one as it was my first vintage Longines Conquest and it makes such a nice couple with the ref 9024. I just added my Longines stuff to trade in the WTB/WTT section as I got my approval for the sales section LINK: https://omegaforums.net/threads/or-wtb-longines-conquest-scalloped-crown.43462/
