Looking For A Nice Gold Pie Pan

Hello,

I am looking for an original Pie Pan. I should point out I am not well versed in them, but seem to like the 563 movements. Does anyone have suggestions on where to look. Something early 60". Open to style, like these but would like a mint looking, limited reworked watch. any ideas are appreciated.
Thanks

FIrst of all, the 563 didn't come in the chronometer rated Constellations. If you want a date feature, you'd want a 561 (early to mid 60's) or a 564 (mid to late 60's) inside a pie pan. Non-date models would have a 551.

Second, pass on that watch you linked to. It's overpolished - really overpolished - and the dial has been refinished which kills the value. You have the right idea by linking the listing, just don't buy that particular watch. There are enough correct and original pie pans around to afford some patience in choosing.

Thanks ulack. very helpful advice. I think the items that I like are date function, arabic lettering, rose gold, leather strap. Can you suggest any specifc sites I can look? I really want to stay true to original, I guess its like art...if it looks to good, its probably been worked.

I am flexible on many items, just would like a nice old fashioned dress watch feel.

Thanks

No problem. The fact that the seller was upfront about the redial is important. That particular seller you linked to has some fantastic watches too, as well as Alex from Mexico (forget his eBay ID, but search "Alex" and you'll see lots of his stuff), and a few eBay sellers.

BTW have you read the info on Desmond's Constellation Collector Blog?

Be wary of that seller. Sometimes he has some gems, but other times there's hidden defects (ie: glued on second hand or similar). He has listed a franken or two also. The problem is he shows a 100% satisfaction rating, which comes either because (a) the buyer finds out about the defect later, after feedback was left, because a cursory examination doesn't show it or (b) the buyer doesn't know anything about vintage watches.
