Hello OF. I’ve recently catched this Longines Reference 9000. In my (humble) opinion dial is in acceptable condition and case is a little bit polished but still got his edges. I love the watch but I’ve got a bracelet issue. I’d love to put a metal bracelet on it, especially a BoR one. From what I’ve understood, Longines ones are very scarce to say the least. Visually, I’d love to have a 5 link, something similar to the Omega RG 8220 or a 1036. But getting the Omega would make a patchwork, and push me to get a Connie (who said black dial 2852 ?)... But that’s another problem. So here’s my question(s). What do you think of the idea, aesthetically speaking ? Any idea, brand or model of bracelet I should consider ? Nothing urgent, it needs a spa first Another issue is the oxidised hands. Do you all think it's a findable spare? Worth the research? With many thanks, Servius P.S. And since a thread without pics is worthless...
I quite like this watch with the Fab Suisse dial. Congrats on the pick-up, where did you find it? If it were me, I wouldn’t change the hands, but to each their own. The Curated Wrist has an inexpensive BoR in 18mm. https://curatedwrist.com/products/h...brushed-finish-options?variant=30992941973553
Wow - that looks really good. Does anyone else notice that many of these references do not have clean cases and dials?
I agree and think the watch is a stunner as-is and wouldn't touch the hands. I also agree with the OP that the watch would really pop on a BOR. It might take a bit of experimentation with head links but an omega or similar BOR will probably look great on it.
I have the twin of this watch, circa 1954. Fantastic design, congratulations. Also another boat for the Curated Wrist, good product, good company.
I’m awaiting delivery of a Curated Wrist BOR and plan to mount it on my Conquest 9000. Will post a pic here shortly.
Thanks everyone About the BoR, I'd love something with ends fitting the case like the Omega BoRs do... Should have precise it in my first post But would be happy to see what that Curated bracelet looks like on that reference ! About the hands I tend to agree...
The dial on that is actually quite clean and well-preserved in my opinion. The fab. suisse on the dial is really the cherry on the sundae.
