Dear Longines Subforum, I found a vintage Longines that I liked the dial off. Since I can't really explain the massive interest for this piece on the auction online page, I searched and found out that it maybe could be a Ref.5483?
I only have those two pictures.
Lume of the hands don't appear to be original, case is in okay shape.

    Thanks for your help.
    Kind regards, Antoine

Uncommon military style dial is the main catalyst for the interest.

Thanks for your answer. I like the piece but not at that price. :)

You're welcome, Antoine, and your name reminds me of an attractive French teacher that I had many years ago, as she called me the same.

These type of watches can be over-bid at times because dealers are willing to pay a high price for the dial alone.

Cool piece, the case looks very worn on the lugs/ lug holes?

And where is the sweep second.....

Is the auction over yet? Just curious how much it might fetch.
    Best regards

@Tony C. I'm sure learning french became much easier under those conditions.

I was drawn to the piece myself because of the dial. Didn't knew that this Type was such in demand. Learned something new.

@Syrte I was expecting the bidding war to continue when I dropped out. Some buyer from Barcelona got it for ~751$ I don't know if that's particularly high for those pieces.

@LarryG yes, I thought so too.

Thanks for your help. I'm more and more drawn to certain Watches of Longines, so I really appreciate it when I can learn something, in a field where I'm gifted with limited knowledge.

Without surprise, the buyer from Barcelona is a dealer. Now if you want to get it for several times what it sold at bidding, here’s a hint where to find it.

@Syrte Merci beaucoup! Interesting to see what is happening with the Watch. I'm having a hard time understanding the Value provided by this Dealer for the Watch community...::facepalm1::

For the record, I have removed earlier posts— following a kind request by the owner of a Juvenia watch very similar to the Longines in the OP.

Do you have any other photos or information about this Longines? I have been trying to learn more about examples with these octagonal cases.

I don't have any other pictures but I will ask to the owner of the watch (in case he is still has it) and let you know
