Just purchased the Heritage Military inspired watch originally produced in 1918. The original had a white dial time-only that featured a steel pilot’s case with oversized "onion" crown I brilive. The most noticeable characteristic about the original Longines is the oversized Arabic numerals, accented with thin Breguet hands. The new version you see here echoes most of these traits in its understated design and straightforward color scheme, though with a number of pretty significant changes.

First off is the size the watch is 44mm, It also features a black dial in place of a white dial, but with the same oversized numerals which are rendered in SuperLumiNova. The handset is slightly different than that of its predecessor, looking more like the hands found on the old Longines pilot's watches made for the Czech Air Force. The steel case, while big, has great proportions and the smooth, flat bezel that characterized many early 20th-century military watches. The crown is not an onion type Instead it's something more ordinary and oversized. This isn't the biggest sin in the world, but it does feel like a missed opportunity.

he watch is powered by the self winding calibre L615.3 (an ETA 2895/2 by another name) which has a 42-hour power reserve.

The watch is on on a very nice black alligator buckel strap and is engraved on the back case.

I look forward to many years of enjoyment out of it .

I'd love to have an original of any Longines reissue, but can't really afford or find one.
