For me, this one surely is: I won't refuse this SS though: The above photos are found from ulackfocus' topics (man, is the solid your??) If we count Record in, this one is definitely on my "very-wish" list: Cal. 174, seems it has a similar Pellaton winding as IWC 85x, but I think I am wrong. So, what are your Longines grails?
I've been looking at Longines for a little bit now and feeling like a fish out of water about it. Wow, this is a beautiful model with a fantastic dial. Love that gold one, the hands and dial...just great! I've been looking at the Conquest and a few Ultra-Chrons but haven't seen this configuration before, good luck in your quest!
It is Longines Conquest Power Reserve, the smaller dial is actually the power reserve indicator. It is modified cal. 294, and finding one with everything working, mint dial SS is hard, leave alone the solid gold version...
Was wondering about that as I was looking at these after I posted. I noticed the two watches center dials were in different positions. That gold one, the lighting in this shot is just perfect, just can't take my eyes off of it! Since these are fairly rare I'm sure they come with a premium...I'd be happy at this point with a nice standard Conquest.
Me too, I was the under bidder on one 6 or 7 years ago. Since then I think they have trebled or quadrupled in price
The Record has a dual Pellaton system, sort of. No, the 18ct Power Reserve is not mine but it's the one I want - preferably white gold. It's the only date-at-12 that I don't own. Wouldn't mind a date at 6 Grand Prize or Admiral (caliber 343 or 345). Need a Grand Prize 352 also. I also really need Norm's near NOS caliber 22A with the box and papers. Got the exact watch already, just not in the condition I want and Norm's is.
Well I'm very excited to say I have broken my vintage Longines cherry on this! It was recently serviced (documented) and this is my first hi-beat movement. This one has a 13 million serial # dating it to 1967 the first year of the Ultra-Chron, I believe. It should arrive next week...
No worries at all Ed. Just keeping my status as an enabler up to the 'legendary' level. While we're talking about Ultra-Chrons, here's my pair: 18ct pink gold caliber 431 on the left, ss caliber 6651 chronometer on the right.
I was there, and was outbid as well. Up right until the last second it was within reach, and then suddenly...
