Hello, Was wondering if anyone has seen this model before? Was wondering why some 'automatic's that I've seen in longines is written in cursive while this isn't. The back is also quite different from those that I've saw. Perhaps someone could shed some light? Thanks!
Very pretty dial. Dial and scripts look legit, as does the case-back. Longines employed several fonts for Automatic during the 1960-70s period. See the "Longines Vintage Automatics" sticky thread in the subforum and you'll see that this one matches. Personally, I prefer this one to the cursive typeface. This seems to be one of the later Admirals, when Longines decided to ditch its 34x/43x movements and instead outsource from its subsidiary the Record Watch Co. Some find that off-putting, but I do like the quickset function on the 506. All in all, a charming piece of the "dark ages" of the Quartz Crisis. Cheers
