Hi guys and girls, Check out this eBay listing: http://www.ebay.nl/itm/Rare-Vintage...371201?hash=item4d5bd81b41:g:IgoAAOSww5hZNpzePurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network replaced crown, also hands maybe? Something about those hands looks off to me. What do you think?
I think I just answered my own question. Found this here http://www.chronocentric.com/forums/chronotrader/index.cgi?md=read;id=44592 assuming that one is correct, the hands seem to be replaced indeed
Saw this one last night as well. I was tempted at first but I was also turned off by the hands. It's a shame, though probably for the best as it has basically the same case/overall look as my 62MAS (which is currently at my watchmaker, hemorrhaging money ).
The bezel is cool but the hands in that one turned me off too. However there’s one here on the forum with the same bezel and a better movement FS - Longines 7970-3 Ultra Chron Diver Chronometer Dial / Movement
Just read the original ebay ad and noted the 505 movement. This a a Record movement used by Longines after Longines acquired them. Not a bad movement, but nothing compared to the Chronometer 431 in the other example we've been discussing. Noted current bid the ebay modelfor over 800 USD currently, which makes the one for sale on the forum look that much better. Ohhhhh the temptation.... MUST STOP LOOKING
^yup. Just got a square Ultra Chron with the 431, came serviced. Such fun to just hear / see it tick. Has gained maybe 2 seconds in 3 days...
