I picked up a few watches in a group buy just recently and this is one I have decided not to keep, it's a 1950's Longines manual wind calibre 12.68ZS in decent shape with a charming and quite heavily patinated dial. I don't know that much about this watch to be honest as it doesn't fall into my collecting sphere. The only thing I can really say is that I had really better not even think about calling it a "Longines Calatrava" for fear of waking the Longines Gods amongst us The dial with steel markers and Arabics numerals began as a cream/white colour and has now aged and developed an orange/brown tone giving it a certain vintage charm. The alpha hands have some corrosion and both the dial and hands retain their original and aged lume. 35mm screw back steel case ref 6264 is in good shape overall retaining nice lines and with an attractive engraved back cover. At some point in its life some clever bugger looks to have attempted to drill into a couple of the lugs, I haven't a clue who or why and it looks like they gave up after penetrating a millimeter or so on one side and less on the other. Original signed and period correct crown. Inside the case back is the ref 6264. The 12.68ZS movement is a beauty to look at, nice and clean with sharp screw heads. It is winding, setting, running and keeping good time although I have no service history for it. The movement dates to around 1957. I have fitted it to a NOS peccary strap which I feel compliments the patina very well €335 Net to me which will Include Track and Trace shipping wherever you are in the world.
