Hi minutenrohr,

That text regarding the dial is not present in the lot notes. Did you get additional information?
Why not ask the person that replied you to elaborate on the dial condition?

...everyone can write to christies, to get a more detailed condition report. a 13ZN-friend from the US did it and forwarded it to me.
the words "restored and has a crack" are enough to me, not to think about buying such a watch or ask more questions.
I hope, i answered your quetion correctly?

I haven't bought anything from a major auction house, but thanks to your highlight of this particular case, I'll be extra careful of them if I ever do!

News:
I talked to a friend who owns such a romanian 13ZN and looked on my own one.
I also asked another guy who traded much 13zns in Germany + Swiss.
We all think now, that the dial of the 13zn/christie´s is NOT reprinted - only the lume is restored - I´m 98% shure.
The information "has a crack", mentioned in the condition report, points out, that they could
have been sleazy and confused something - perhaps they wrote about a watch with enamel-dial.
That should be the reason why it was so expensive.
Sorry - I believed in that condition report and wrote uncorrect things. FXR0Yh.jpg
