Longines 13ZN Custom Watch Project: Hand Finishing

I’m making a custom one-off haute holorogy project based off a Longines 13ZN movement. If this appeals to your tastes, let me know. If there is enough interest I can post regular updates.

In today’s entry, we can see the first stage in preparing the brass components. Anglage is completed by hand and the top surfaces are finished in matte using fine sand on a glass surface. This process was chosen over grainage due to the rubies needing to remain in place. Wide, deep dishes have been polished out around the rubies to illuminate the stones.

My first question is - do you think I posted this in the right board or would this be better suited in ‘Watchmaking’?

I just requested the mods to move this to ‘Watchmaking’ - let’s see if they can do it 🙂
