·Hello everyone,
Selling this 1947 Longines steel cased, screw back watch also known as « sei tacche », 33mm excluding crown, equipped with a 12.68Z caliber with shock protection.
It has a very appealing and unusual gold /orange patina on its original radium dial, with beautiful blued steel hand with original lume.
Many of these models I’ve seen on sale are heavily polished and this one’s appeal is that it is such an honest watch-- with a wonderfully chubby, chunky rounded case which doesn’t seem to have seen much polishing if any.
It has surface scratches, some more visible on the lower right lug, and nylon strap marks on the case back. (Please see photos, which as usual emphasize flaws I’ve done my best to reproduce faithfully).
The gilt caliber is very clean and shock protected. Its service history unknown, and I have not timed it but it’s kept empirically excellent time on my wrist— worn very sporadically.
Lug number matches the case back number as it should, and Longines’ extract of archives indicates the watch was « invoiced on 20 June 1947 to the company Terrasse, which was at that time our agent for Sweden. »
Those models as many Longines references of the same era have seen considerable - if not ridiculous— price increases in recent years. This one is offered at a considerably more friendly price in light of the fact it hasn’t spent its life in a drawer.
Payment via Paypal « friends » or wire transfer 450 euros net to me, But I can do regular Paypal with known members at an additional cost of +4%
Shipments costs to be added, the watch and I are in Paris France, shipment via international registered mail tracked with signature, EU deal much preferred, happy to discuss those aspects though.
Returns accepted only within EU and after 3 days inspection, provided the watch is returned in the condition received.
Mates and contributing members may be given preference.
Many thanks for your attention,
