Glad you love it - wear it in good health. It has a bit of a Polaris vibe to it - Probably the color combos. I’ve been tempted several times to get one of the chronos but... they’re a bit too much for me.

I do really like the distinct crowns and pushers. What’s the model and backstory. Why did you choose this piece?

At first I was looking for something special with gold for my big 5-0. After visiting to my local AD and trying a couple of different models including the Moon Watch. I fell in love with the Speedmaster mkii because of it's tonneau shape, the way it wears and it is quite unique...This mkii is a reissue from 1969, year I was born! So, since I was looking for gold, this beauty was a combination of what I was looking for!

It is sooooooo comfortable, so different and unique! It's my third Omega and so far my favorite!

    Congrats!

Just a thought... maybe this could give an indication of what the 2 tone Apollo 11 50th anniversary may look like?

No it's not...it is in the Omega listing, but since it was not stock in Canada it had to be ordered from Switzerland.

It was regular production, but went out of production a few years back. There are still some kicking around unsold.

They went into production in 2014 with 3 variations and an Olympic LE. Racing, steel, and bi color steel/Sedna. The Olympic was silver, gold and Sedna/bronze for the subdial ring.

If it's out of production, why is it still in the 2019 lineup catalog and on the Omega's website?

Because there are some In the system. The gold ba145.022 from Germany was in the catalog for years. The older Planet Oceans are still on the website also.

Congrats on the purchase(s)! I like the two tone you selected, and even more importantly, congrats on the big 5-0! Not only do I appreciate Omegas, I also appreciate Montblanc pens!
