On the weekends when I get bored I often turn to trying to get some really nice shots of my watches. To have some more control over the lighting I am thinking about a light box. At the moment I set up elaborate shades and surroundings using shoe boxes etc. For those that use light boxes, could you post what you use and maybe some of the results? Cheers
I generally use the ceiling or the sky - easy to set up and always available - so I can't help you there. There several good suggestions in another thread here... https://omegaforums.net/forums/watch-photography/
Here's my homemade setup: A cardboard box with the top and sides cut out and covered with tissue paper. The results
I use this 1 it's nice & it folds all up into a neat little package http://www.meritline.com/merax-one-...7I4Q1sChbkobMTPlS0oI1Doj6SJLYgK_reRoClh7w_wcB These are the results
Natural light is better than artificial light. Sunlight with diffusers works wonders. I also like a little reflection to give depth. Electric light and too much diffusion looks washed out and fake.
Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeease, I don't want to see either of the squirrel bollocks pics again For once I'd like to "un-hijack" this and get back to lightboxes. The coolest one I've seen is the one that George @Kringkily uses
I agree that natural light is best but my house doesn't get a lot of that and going outside to take photos isn't always convenient, so I bought this kit on ebay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Square-Perf...948?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item485832b304Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network I'm a terrible photographer so my results haven't been great but it gets the job done in terms of delivering ample and consistent light. These are a few watch shots I've taken with my iphone 5. I've upgraded to the iphone 6 recently but haven't taken the light tent out yet so I'm hoping the next batch of pics improves.
